CADWELL - Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Burch Smith, age 87, will be

held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,

with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jack Lee and Rev. Greg

Lowery will officiate.

Mrs. Smith was born on October 29, 1921 in Dodge County, Georgia.

She was the daughter of the late Elijah Franklin and Edna Earl Walker Evans.

She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Doyle Edwin Burch and

Phillip Smith; one grandchild, Chan Stanley; one great-grandchild, Rebecca

Thompson; two sisters, Gladys O’Hanlon and Mary Lee Jackson; and one

brother, Millard Evans.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the

Good Sam Camping Group. She was retired as a pre-school employee for the

Heart of Georgia and was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith passed away on Monday,

May 25, 2009 at Fairview Park Hospital.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her four children, Doyle Russell (Alice) Burch of

Dublin, Jerri (Wayne) Spinks of Marietta, Joyce (Richard) Stanley of Dublin, Roy

Clayton (Donna) Burch of Crestwood, KY; one brother, Clyde Evans of

Cadwell; two sisters, Marjorie Watson of Warner Robins and Ernestine

Williams of Dublin; eight grandchildren, Tim Burch, Donna Thompson, Amy

Rios, David Spinks, Nathan Stanley, Melissa Woodard, Brandi Findley, and Kelli

Burch; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Stanley, Tim Burch, David Spinks, Daniel

Findley, Mike Rios, Jim Thompson, Jason Woodard, and Britt Bowen.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday,

May 27, 2009 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of

Mrs. Smith to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund C/O Alice Grinstead

at 2974 Hwy 117, Cadwell, Georgia 31009.
