Nestled in a corner of Dublin’s northside is a getaway from the daily

stress of life. Here, both women and men rejuvenate with soothing massages,

spa therapies, and a full service salon. There are eclectic fashions – from

jewelry and accessories to clothing and shoes – that can’t be found anywhere

else for miles around.

If it shines or sparkles, soothes or appeals to the senses it is at the

Beauty Boutique and Day Spa.

“Our customers come from everywhere,” said owner Patsy Watson. “We

have regular customers who live in Vidalia, Sandersville, McRae, Eastman and

even Atlanta. Here they can find it all under one roof because we put them

together head to toe.”

Chris Moore is one such customer. After a 90-minute massage, Moore

enjoyed a facial and all the amenities of a day at the spa. The Beauty

Boutique is a regular stop for the Phoenix, Arizona resident who also resides

in Soperton.

“You have to take the time to pamper your body,” said Moore. “People

discount how important it is to take care of themselves, but health is

important. You have to budget the time.”

Budgeting the expense doesn’t seem to be a factor for customers either.

Then again, the services are affordable and provide a very basic need.

“We make them feel special, help them look pretty and feel sexy. Age is

up here,” Watson said pointing to her head, “everyone needs to feel good

about themselves.”

From teens to seniors, Beauty Boutique customers find something that

makes them feel special time and again. Local businessmen drop in for a

haircut while a group of teenage girls excitedly looks at jewelry for piercings.

Another man has stopped by after the Beauty Boutique altered sleeves for his

wife who recently had rotator cuff surgery.

“I just want to thank you,” the man said. “It makes it so much easier for

her.”

The Beauty Boutique seems to offer it all: a full service salon, facials, spa

pedicures and manicures, body bronzing, waxing, piercings, massage

therapy, ear candling, alterations for the public…and the clothes.

“We make these ourselves,” Watson said, as she proudly shows soft and

delicate tank top shells adorned with Swarovski crystals. “We make them in 18

colors. And we sell them to Branson Belle (at the Missouri Showboat’s

specialty shop).”

The apparel at the Beauty Boutique is one-of-a-kind and includes

regionally produced garments such as beautifully adorned jacket ensembles

made in Metter, Ga. In fact, Watson said whenever possible, the Beauty

Boutique carries American-made products. Customers browse through racks

of clothing – each garment unlike any other in the region. The odds of

showing up at an event wearing the same garment as someone else is not

likely to happen with these selections. The fabrics are unique, some

embellished, most sparkle or shimmer and all are reasonably priced.

“It is what we offer and our service that has made our success,” Watson

said. After retiring from Belk, Watson and her mother, Elizabeth Stinson,

launched the Beauty Boutique in 1983. Since then, four generations have

greeted customers and contributed to the boutique’s success.

“My mother is now retired and my daughter, Gail Bland, is on medical

leave,” said Watson. Granddaughter Jodi Knight however keeps a busy

schedule as the boutique’s licensed massage therapist, performing relaxation

and therapeutic techniques such as reflexology, pregnancy massage and river

rock massage to stimulate circulation, reduce stress and promote healing.

Seemingly, whatever service a customer can envision, they can find at the

Beauty Boutique – including permanent makeup or the ancient ear candling

treatments that relieve chronic headaches, sinusitis, vertigo and allergies.

“We’ve got it all,” Watson said, “from our services and products that

make our customers feel special to our staff that delivers the best service –

and it’s all right here in Dublin.”

The Beauty Boutique is located at 101 Country Club Rd, just off Hwy 441

North and can be reached at 478-275-0721.
