Color it Goodbye?

By L. Don Oliver

Where are you Christmas,

oh where did you __?

Where is the joy,

we once used to ____?

Where is all the happiness,

that togetherness would _____?

Where are all the carols,

that families would ____?

Where is the little Christ child,

with his manger all _____?

Where are you Christmas,

Oh where did you __?

Where is the love of giving,

that the "Magi" gave ______?

It's been replaced by secularism,

and renaming it the "holiday ______";

For every reason/season there is always

a Grinch - It's call "Political Correctness"!

Previous Poem.

Giving!

By L. Don Oliver!

It was on a very cold December night,

Our cat was let out to do her Thing;

Scratching at the door she was let in,

In her mouth an object she did bring;

The cat roamed around the house,

Approaching my wife in her seat;

Gave my wife an appreciative look,

Dropping the object at her feet;

Quickly, my wife threw her coat over,

So that the object would stay;

Then she went outside, opened her hand,

And the little bird flew away;

Christmas Past!

By L. Don Oliver

Something again, never to see

That passe called, the Christmas tree

Bygone tradition, that has no place

Long forgotten, by the human race

No more carols, to be sung

No candy canes, to be hung

No lights aglow, flashing brightly there

No limbs adorned, with Angel Hair

No icicles, thrown gingerly about

Home made Angel, we'll do without

No Magi scenes, to display

Only adds, to our dismay

Gathering family, never to exist

A show of love, we must resist

For each of us, we must dissect

If we are being, politically correct

In that once, that use to be

Now it's called, the holiday tree

The holiday tree, reflecting one hue

Let us give thanks, to the A-C-L-U
